Job Description
We have a great opportunity for a Creative Director in Burlington, VT to head up our Apparel line. This individual will be responsible for leading the trend research and creative design development process for the men's and women's apparel product lines. In this role, you will deliver design solutions that ensure brand consistency and trend leadership in the marketplace. You will guide the design process and team to deliver concept, content and design direction that provides trend-right, consistent, differentiated and/or exclusive product to support objectives. Some specific responsibilities include:
- Define future opportunities and develop comprehensive plans to enhance revenue potential for Burton as a progressive apparel brand.
- Manage the design team's projects from concept to completion, meaning delivery of manufacturing ready designs.
- Develop and maintain a solid knowledge of apparel market and demands.
- Research and develop seasonal trends, themes, concepts, colors, fabric and styling in keeping with our brand character.
- Work effectively with the Creative team to create designs that support line plans, assortment strategies, price points and overall creative direction.
- Partner with the Creative team to develop and manage seasonal design calendars and meet all deadlines.
- Work with the Creative team in researching international trends to provide strategic trend direction.
- Manage relationships with team riders and testers. Schedule and execute roundtables as appropriate feedback mechanism.
- Drive financial results by providing design solutions for business opportunities that are differentiated from the market place and unique to Burton, including business shifts, key initiatives, new product concepts and seasonal focuses
- Manage communication among internal design, outside design teams, merchants, marketing and vendors to drive effective and efficient line development. Develop & maintain strong internal and external partnerships
